How long have you been in business?
Since July 1, 2011.
What is your primary product or service?
Woodwind and brasswind musical instrument repair.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
A). At age 6 or 7 I experienced my first exposure to musical instrument repair and servicing on my Great Grandfather's cornet. It had been in storage for many years and was in need of service. My dad and brother, who are both trombone players, all got together and got that instrument in working order. I was facinated with the process and enjoyed the satisfaction that came with that experience. I treasure the memories of that experience with my dad, now deceased, and brother. I still have that cornet and plan to have it completely restored some day. B.) I have been playing trumpet for over 35 years. I have a Bachelors degree in Music Education from Wichita State University and I am Certified in Musical Instrument Repair from Renton Technical College. I have been repairing musical instruments for over 17 years. Here in the Kansas City area, I worked for Hume Music for 12 years until they had to close the repair shop in 2011. It was then that I launched Integrity Woodwind and Brass Works.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Individualized customer service that provides the highest quality repair at a reasonable price with a fast turnaround. I offer same or next day service on emergency/minor repairs, 1-3 day service on more extensive work, and most repadding jobs 1 week or less. I also offer a unique service option of "Technician Assisted Cleaning" (TAC) whereby individuals (professional to beginner) can schedule an appointment to have me supervise the servicing of their brasswind instrument - utilizing my equipment and expertise, learning about the maintenance of their instrument, at a discounted price. The customer participates in the cleaning process, while I handle all technical aspects of the maintenance (i.e. dent work, solder work, valve/slide/rotor work etc.).
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I work out of my house, and have no plans as yet to open another location. I am expanding my services as described above with "Technician Assisted Cleaning" (TAC). Promoting it via my Facebook page and soon to come on my website. I am also servicing and selling instruments on Consignment. I currently have available: a Gemeinhardt flute, Yamaha alto saxophone, 2 trumpets (Benge and Bach), and 2 trombones (Olds and Conn).

The closest major intersection to my house is 95th and Mission Road. North of 95th street on Mission Rd at 93rd Street head east to Pawnee Lane (2nd available right turn). Turn right or south on Pawnee Lane (cul-de-sac) to 9316 Pawnee Lane (4th house on right).
What type of payments do you accept?
I prefer cash or check, but can accept Visa or Mastercard.
Which areas do you service?
I have customers from all over the Greater Kansas City Metro area. I offer pick up and delivery services, but most customers come to me.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
I am the sole proprietor.
What are your hours of operation?
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 8:30 A.M. to 8:30 P.M.; Wednesdays 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Call anytime to make an appointment or in the event of emergency repairs.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
While I have had many words of thanks over the years - the joy of seeing a player pick up that instrument and play it with ease after having had to fight for every note is the best compliment of all.
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
Life verse: Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, lean not on your own understanding; acknowledge Him in all your ways and He will make your paths straight." Business verses: Colossians 3:22-24 "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters..." and Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will make your plans succeed."
